MaFLA Summer Institute at Lasell College
August 19-21, 2005
For all of you who missed last year's
Summer Immersion, we are pleased to announce that MaFLA will present a summer
program, entitled the "MaFLA Summer Institute" in French, Spanish and for New
Teachers at Lasell College in Newton, MA the weekend of August 19 - 21, 2005.
Members can look forward to 30 PDPs if they decide to stay the whole weekend (Lasell
has air-conditioned dorms and the Holiday Inn is right down the street for those
who want family members to accompany them). Other options will include Friday
only participation or Friday and Saturday participation with a lesser number of
PDPs. Meals will be included (the food is catered by Marriott and delicious) and
a Saturday evening visit to French and Spanish restaurants in Cambridge is also
planned. Joyce Beckwith has been named Director of the Institute. Michel Berjoan
will coordinate the French Strand, Luisa Piemontese the Spanish Strand and Nancy
Kassabian the New Teacher Strand. Members will receive the program and
