MaFLA 2008 Session Proposals

Requirements for Session Proposals

bullet75-minute session proposals must not exceed 100 words.
bulletNo more than two proposals may be submitted by any one presenter.
bulletAll program participants, including session chairs, must be MaFLA Members and must register for the Conference
bulletAll presenters must be willing to furnish handouts equal to the number of seats in the room to which they are assigned. MaFLA will advise presenters in advance of the room capacity.
bulletOnline proposals MUST BE SUBMITTED BY May 30, 2008.
bulletPresenters must assume the cost of audio-visual equipment other than one overhead projector and screen.
bulletProposals not following the requirements will not be considered.

Rooms will be set theater style with maximum seating. Each session room will be set up with an overhead projector, cart and screen for overhead. All other audiovisual equipment is the responsibility of the presenters and must be arranged and paid for by the presenters. Presenters may bring their own equipment to the Conference. All presenters must register for the Conference and become a member of MaFLA to present; MaFLA cannot reimburse travel expenses of presenters.

SESSION TITLE (10 word limit)
     
SESSION DESCRIPTION: Specify the (1) content of the presentation (2) method of presentation, (3) benefits to participants. Must be in English. Focus on the Conference theme is especially encouraged. (100 word maximum).
 
PROGRAM ABSTRACT: Please enter an abstract as it would appear in the Conference Program (50 word maximum). If accepted, this abstract will be published in the Official Program; it must be in English and describe what will happen in your session. It may be edited to conform with the editorial style of the publication.
 
All equipment must be requested in advance. There will be no charge for the request of one overhead projector and screen. The fee for each additional projector is $25.00. The charge for a VCR or DVD and monitor is $50.00.  The charge for an LCD projector is $75.00. All equipment rental fees are payable by check to MaFLA upon acceptance of the proposal. Failure to receive your check by July 15 may result in the cancellation of your session. We regret that we have to charge for specialized equipment, but our own rental costs have greatly increased. If you are doing a Power Point presentation, you will need to bring your own projection device.  MaFLA does not furnish boom boxes, CD players, slide projectors, or tape recorders. These must be provided by the presenter.
